Note that the prize drawing will take place at our Annual Meeting on Saturday August 9, 2008, 5:00 PM. Our annual raffle has become a very popular and much-anticipated event. We all love to take a chance on these great prizes donated by our loyal business partners. And though the raffle is fun, the cause is critical - because we can’t take a chance on our water quality. Protecting and preserving our precious lakes takes a huge commitment of time, energy, and resources. Your all-volunteer BLA Board readily accepts the challenge because you – our generous and steadfast members and friends – are always there to assist in this cause near and dear to us all. Your purchase of tickets (two books of 6 for $25 each) is greatly appreciated and provides needed funds to help support our ongoing education and water quality programs, including erosion and runoff reduction, milfoil prevention, gloeotrichia research, bringing the Melinda Ann to Great Pond and Long Pond in July, swimmer’s itch eradication, and stewardship of The Mountain. At stake are the heritage, tradition, and family histories that we all cherish. We know that prevention is the strongest tool – perhaps the ONLY tool for invasives – and our 100 year-old mission to Protect and Preserve becomes increasingly more poignant as threats to our lakes continue to increase. We thank you most sincerely for your support and enthusiastic involvement in this partnership forged from our common goal to save something dear to us all! Sincerely,
